DHAKA: Bangladesh managed to set 276-run target for England in crucial match of Pool A as Mahmudullah Riyadh bagged the first ever century for Bangladesh in World Cup Monday.
As the first Bangladeshi batsman, he scored 103 of 138 balls with seven boundaries and two over boundaries before going back to pavilion at Adelaide Oval.
Besides, Mushfiqur Rahim and Soumya scored 89 and 40 runs respectively helped the team to hit a fighting total of 275 runs in stipulated overs. Anderson and Jordan bagged two-wicket each.
Bangladesh lost four early wickets as Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, and Shakib went to pavilion scoring 2 runs each while Soumya scored 40.
Earlier in the day, England won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh.
A win for Bangladesh in the match would take side into quarter-finals, but England would hope to keep its World Cup campaign alive.
