Kiwi batsmen led their team to the victory with seven balls remaining. Tylor scored 56 while Elliott and Anderson scored 39 runs each.
All rounder Shakib Al Hasan bagged four wickets and Nasir the two wickets.
Earlier, unbeaten 128 runs off 123 balls by Mahmudullah propelled Bangladesh to set 289-run target for New Zealand.
Besides, Soumya, Sabbir and Shakib scored 51, 40 and 23 runs respectively to help team make a challenging total 288 runs for seven wickets.
Kiwi bowlers Boult, Andersion, Elliott bagged 2-wkt each. This is the first time NZ has had to be in the field for all fifty overs of the innings.
Earlier, New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum won the toss and opted to field.
Bangladesh will face India in quarterfinals of World Cup next.
