DHAKA: Bangladesh U-19s beat visiting South Africa Under-19s cricket team in the second Youth One Day International (ODI) by 140-run at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur of the city on Friday.
South Arfica U-19 managed to score 119-run losing all wickets in 43.2 overs. Opener K Verreynne scored 47-run while AD Galiem amassed 26-run.
Nihaduzzaman grabbed three wickets while Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Saleh Ahmed and Mosabbek Hossain took two wickets each. Abdul Halim took another Proteas wicket.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh U-19s captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bat first.
They scored 259-run losing four wickets in their stipulated 50-over. Zakir Hasan scored 81-run while Nazmul Hossain Shanto gathered 73.
With this victory, Bangladesh U-19s took a 2-0 lead over the South Africa U-19s in the seven match series.
