U-14 girls football team return

DHAKA: Some 50 Bangladeshis, including the members of Bangladesh Under-14 girls football team, returned home on Sunday night from earthquakes-hit Nepal.

The Foreign ministry sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The sources said a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the 50 Bangladeshis landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport of the city around 8:30pm.

The football team was scheduled to play the final match of AFC Under-14 Girls Regional Championship in Kathmandu of Nepal on April 25. But the match was canceled due to massive earthquake.

Sources said earlier a special aircraft, carrying foods, medicines and six-member team of doctors of Bangladesh Army landed in Katmandu.

Later, this plane with 25 footballers and 25 other Bangladeshis returned Dhaka.

However, more Bangladeshis remained also stranded in Nepal.

On Saturday, magnitude 7.9 earthquake hit Nepal where more that 3,200 people died.
