DHAKA: A four-day ‘Bashundhara Bangladesh Open-2015’ golf tournament will begin in city from May 27.

Prize money of the tournament will be 300,000 USD.

Bangladesh Gold Federation secretary general Brigadier General Abul Fazal Mohammad Sanaullah made the disclosure at a press conference at Kurmitola in city on Wednesday.

Golf Federation senior vice-president Major General Mizanur Rahman Khan, Federation Junior Division Golf president Major General Mohammad Masud Razzak and Tournament Media Committee member Major Morshed and Bashundhara Group adviser Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Khandakar Abdul Wahed, among others, were present at the press conference.

Bangladesh Gold Federation secretary general Brigadier General Abul Fazal Mohammad Sanaullah said that golfers from different countries are coming here to participate in the tournament.

A reception desk has been opened at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in this regard, he informed the media.

According to secretary general, a total of 150 golfers from 24 countries, including the host Bangladesh, will take part in the event.

Among them, 30 golfers are from Bangladesh, he added.

Sanaullah announced that the prize money of the tournament will be 300,000 USD.

Earlier on May 4, the tournament logo was unveiled at Bashundhara International Convention Center in city.

On April 7, country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group signed an agreement with Bangladesh Gold Federation for three years.
