Mashrafe injured

DHAKA: Team Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza sustained injuries as a passenger bus hit a rickshaw carrying him in city’s Mirpur area on Thursday morning.

Mashrafe was on way to Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to attend a practice session. A bus hit the rickshaw from behind around 9:30am, leading Mashrafe fall on the ground.

Mashrafe sustained injuries on his wrists and two knees. He was given first aid treatment immediately.

The pacer is now under the observation of national cricket physician Debashis Chowdhury.

Debashis said that nothing critical happened. He, however, did not disclosed details saying that he could not talk to media now without consultation with the team management.

The Indian cricket team is set to visit Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series and a test match in the next week of this June. They will arrive in city in June 7.

All the ODIs will be held at Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur while the test match will be held at Khan Saheb Osman Ali stadium at Fatullah in Narayanganj
