DHAKA: After the end of over-30.1 in the first session, the play on day-4 of the one-off Test between Bangladesh and India was called off due to heavy showers and a wet outfield at Fatullah.
Umpires declared, “The day's play has been called off. Another episode of this often pointlessly meandering TV show called life has come to an end. Be sure to join us tomorrow morning, at 9.30am local time.”
Earlier, Bangladesh lost three wickets early on the day-4 of the rain-interrupted one-off test on Saturday when India declared their first innings before the game started in the morning.
However, the rain intervened 10 minutes before the scheduled lunch break.
Bangladesh scored 111 in 30.1 overs and trailed by 351 runs with seven wickets remaining in the 1st innings at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium.
Tamim Iqbal opened the Tigers’ innings with Imrul Kayes on the other end of the crease.
Bangladesh lost early wickets as Tamim Iqbal became victim of stumping by Warddiman Saha in last ball of the in innings’ fifth over in Ravichandran Ashwin’s blowing.
Mominul Haque came to the crease then Mominul and Imrul batted well.
Harbhajan Singh had Mominul (30) caught by Umesh Yadav at mid-off in the fifth ball of 28th over.
In next over, Ravichandran Ashwin also removed Mushfiqur Rahim.
Shakib Al Hasan and Imrul Kayes were not out on crease.
However, the game was yet to start due to rainfall after the launch break.
Earlier on Friday, Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay had scored 173 and 150 to anchor India to 462-6 at stumps on the third day of the test. India followed innings forfeiture in the morning.
