DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday accorded a warm reception to Bangladesh national cricket team (male) members at her official residence Ganabhaban for the players’ performances in ICC World Cup and whitewashing Pakistan cricket team and series win against India.
Mentioning that there was no scope of negligence to the team, she expected that the Tigers will win the World Cup within a short time.
The premier also announced that her incumbent government will build two more international standard cricket stadiums, one in Cox’s Bazar and another by the river Padma.
She also announced that the government will construct a sports complex with modern facilities in an area by the shore of river Padma.
Moreover, Sheikh Hasina encouraged cricketers to perform better in future.
Later, she handed over a cheque of Tk 23.59-lakh as prize to coaching staff and BCB officials concerned for their contribution in shaping Tigers’ performances.
Tigers Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza also presented a cricket bat signed by all members of the team.
She also took part in a photo session with cricketers, coaches, staff and BCB officials.
