DHAKA: Visiting South Africa beat host Bangladesh by 52 runs in the first T20 of two-match series in Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Skipper F du Plessis’s 79-runs of 61 balls laid the foundation for South Africa's 148-4 in their 20 overs after the visitors won the toss and decided to bat first.
Chasing the 149-run target, Bangladesh lost all wickets scoring 96 runs after the end of 18.5-over.
Miserably, only three Bangladesh batsmen-- Shakib Al Hasan (26 off 30 balls) Mushfiqur Rahim (17 off 19 balls) Litton Das (22 off 26 balls) -- touched double figures in their innings.
Proteas bowlers Duminy, Rabada, Wiese begged two wickets each while Parnell, Abbott and Phangiso took one wicket each.
Second T20 will be held at the same venue on July 7.
