DHAKA: The country’s electronics giant ‘Walton’ has a plan to manufacture mobile phone in Bangladesh if necessary policy supports are provided by the government.
The local brand has already employed more than 150 engineers, who are conducting massive product development and research activities to provided better services to the users of Walton brand mobile.
Walton Group’s Director SM Monjurul Alam Ovee came up with the remarks at the day-long programme titled “Walton Mobile Distributor Congress-2016,” started with the slogan ‘Let’s create history together,’ held at the premises of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited at Chandra in Gazipur Saturday.
The distributor congress was attended by a total of 170 distributors from 25 zones of Walton Mobile Division across the country.
Walton Group’s Chairman SM Nurul Alam Rizvi inaugurated the day-long congress as the chief guest while Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited Chairman SM Shamsul Alam, Directors SM Monjurul Alam Ovee and Tahmina Afrose also attended the function as special guests.
During the event, the high officials of the company addressed the strategic sales management system.
The participants also assured the Walton management of delivering their best efforts on expanding the company’s existing market at home and abroad.
Speaking at the function, SM Monzurul Alam Ovee said, Walton brand mobile has turned into the customers’ top choice. In terms of sales turnover, Walton has experienced average 200 percent growth year to year, he said.
“With the aim at bring the present government’s vision of building ‘Digital Bangladesh’ ahead, we are planning to manufacture high technology based mobile handsets in Bangladesh in 2017, he said adding: In this case, necessary policy supports from the government level are needed.
Walton is moving ahead with the theme of creating history in manufacturing technology based products at home and abroad, he noted.
SM Shamsul Alam said selling product is not the prime goal of Walton. Rather, it wants to serve the country’s people through delivering highest quality technology based electronics and electrical home appliances. To keep the pace of present growth of the company, he urged all for providing their best efforts on expanding the company’s existing market in the global market.
Alam also hoped that like refrigerators and televisions, ‘Made in Bangladesh’ would be leveled in the mobile sets of Walton very soon. To make the goal true, Walton is going to set up research and development wing for mobile phone, he added.
Eva Rizwana said, Walton has already set up separate cellular phone service points to deliver swift and highest standard after sales services to the users of Walton brand mobile.
SM Zahid Hasan said they are committed for supplying highest quality standard products towards customers. He termed the distributors as brand ambassador.
At the day-long congress, Walton Group rewarded total of 43 distributors and employees for their outstanding performance under two categories---Outstanding Performer of 2015 and Top Performer for Winter Offer 2015. The congress was wrapped up with cultural programme.
