Stocks end lower Monday

DHAKA: Country's stock market marked fall in its price indices on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

DSEX, the broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 19.72 points only to stand at 4560.76 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 98987 with volume of transactions at Tk 3402.81 million.

Of the issues traded, 86 advanced, 185 declined and 52 remained unchanged.

BXPHARMA topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 213.25 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were OLYMPIC, ITC, CITYBANK, ACIFORMULA, GP, SQURPHARMA, ACI, UPGDCL and BEXIMCO.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8536.03 by dropping over 23.28 points.

Out of the issues traded, 74 gained, 148 declined and 30 remained unchanged.
