DHAKA: Walton Group is set to start online-based after-sales services for the customers very soon.
After the launch of this service, customers will be able to apply to receive post-sales services online, said a press release issued on Tuesday.
It also said the desired customers can get the latest status of their products, which are sent to service centers, using tracking numbers.
In October of 2015, ICT sate minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the experimental operation of an e-commerce site of Walton at Walton Hi-Tech Industries at Chandra in Gazipur district.
Later, the e-commerce service was opened for customers from November last year.
Walton’s e-commerce sales have gained popularity just within three months of its journey as a good number of buyers prefer the local brand’s online process for purchasing various electronics products.
The customers can pay off the product’s purchase bills through debit card, credit card or mobile banking instead of carrying cash.
Also they will enjoy promotion discount and conditional free home delivery facilities. These facilities are resulted in making the local brand’s e-commerce business more popular among the customers.
According to Walton authorities, the local brand will also add its international markets to its e-commerce process.
The local brand has emphasized the online based operations mainly considering several aspects, including expanding its market to large extents at home and abroad, bright prospects of e-commerce business and ensuring swift post sales services.
Ariful Ambia, head of IT and senior additional director of Walton Group, said, “The e-commerce operation was introduced so that the customers could easily get the Walton brand products”.
Using e-commerce site, he said customers can now purchase Walton products from any corner of the country under 216 Walton Plazas across the country.
Due to the launch of e-commerce operation, the expatriate Bangladeshis are now able to purchase Walton products. Already, a good number of expatriate Bangladeshis have purchased the local brand’s products using e-commerce site.
Now, Walton is exporting world-class electronics products to about 19 countries, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, United Arab Emirates, Middle East and some African countries, he said adding, the customers of these countries can purchase products in their respective currencies using Walton e-commerce site.
Shihan Mahmud, software engineers (IT Department) of Walton Group, said five percent promotion cash discount on more than 400 products of Walton and conditional cost-free home delivery facilities are offered during e-commerce sales aimed at make it popular among the customers.
