Stocks start week negative

DHAKA: Country's stock market marked fall in its price indices on Monday (February 22), the first trading day of this week as Sunday was holiday for ‘Amar Ekushey’.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 10.04 points only to stand at 4577.61 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 108778 with volume of transactions at Tk 4686.86 million.

Of the issues traded, 95 advanced, 181 declined and 42 remained unchanged.

BSRMLTD topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 387.46 million having changed hands.



The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, IFADAUTOS, UPGDCL, BXPHARMA, AMANFEED, SINOBANGLA, SQURPHARMA, TITASGAS and IDLC.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8599.07 by dropping over 10.79 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 56 gained, 143 declined and 38 remained unchanged.
