Stocks start week negative

DHAKA: Investors witnessed significant fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 30.72 points only to stand at 4536.84 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 102829 with volume of transactions at Tk 4243.36 million.

Of the issues traded, 83 advanced, 198 declined and 41 remained unchanged.

BSRMLTD topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 264.49 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were LANKABAFIN, SINGERBD, ONEBANKLTD, IFADAUTOS, UPGDCL, CMCKAMAL, SINOBANGLA, LAFSURCEML and TALLUSPIN.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8503.79 by dropping over 62.53 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 66 gained, 144 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
