PM asks to sanction Tk 1,000-cr in jute sector

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday (April 11) directed the finance ministry to sanction Tk 1,000-crore for the jute sector.

Of the amount, Tk 300-crore will be spent to pay the workers’ salary and allowance arrears.

The premier made the directives to the finance minister AMA Muhith during a cabinet meeting at noon.

Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting at secretariat in city.
