Bourses see deflation Monday

 

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Monday (April 18), the second trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 1.92 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 4391.42 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 113,921 with transaction at over Tk 4257.95 million. Of the issues traded, 134 advanced, 142 declined and 45 remained unchanged.

Keya Cosmetics topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 263.22 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were MJL Bangladesh Limited, ACI Limited, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited, Aman Feed Limited, LankaBangla Finance ltd., CVO Petrochemical Refinery Limited, BSRM Steel and BSRM Limited.

Following the trend, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also lost points in trading, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 7.73 points to stand at 8216.87 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 95 gained, 113 declined and 36 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 272.75 million.
