DHAKA: International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute, BEI, organized two corporate governance related workshops in the Dhaka on April 24 and 25, respectively.
At the first event, steered by Professor Ulrich Steger, the focus was on Non-Executive Directors and the course was based on an IFC publication: The Incredible Adventures of Carla, which details the impediments faced by a non-executive director from on-boarding to a successful IPO.
On the second day, the spotlight was on Chairing Skills and the course, underlining facilitating skills, was delivered by Barrister James South from the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution in the UK.
IFC Country Manager, Wendy Werner, BEI President, Farooq Sobhan and the Japan ambassador to Bangladesh, Watanabe, were present among others.
