Stocks see loss for 4th straight day

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- extended their losing spell of share prices indices for the fourth running day on Tuesday (April 26), the third trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 39.69 points or 0.91 percent to stand at 4281.93 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 93,197 with transaction at over Tk 3436.52 million. Of the issues traded, 78 advanced, 191 declined and 48 remained unchanged.

BSRM Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 406.08 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., MJL Bangladesh Limited, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Keya Cosmetics Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals, Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd., Jamuna Oil, Olympic Industries and ACI Limited.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 61.95 points to stand at 8015.29.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 57 gained, 154 declined and 26 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 220.90 million till then.
