DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss of share prices indices on Monday (May 2), the first trading session of the week as Sunday was a holiday.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 24.29 points or 0.57 percent to stand at 4171.40 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 77,513 with transaction at over Tk 4,611.78 million. Of the issues traded, 75 advanced, 209 declined and 29 remained unchanged.
MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 173.73 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were Linde Bangladesh Limited, Islami Bank, BRAC Bank Ltd., Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., The IBN Sina, Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, BSRM Limited and ACI Limited.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 52.48 points to stand at 7797.70.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 62 gained, 139 declined and 21 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 244.98 million on the day.
