DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed sharp rise of share prices indices on Tuesday (May 3), the second trading session of the week as Sunday was a holiday.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 100.77 points or 2.41 percent to stand at 4272.17 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 92,159 with transaction at over Tk 4,058.50 million. Of the issues traded, 263 advanced, 29 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 226.52 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were Keya Cosmetics Limited, BSRM Limited, Linde Bangladesh Limited, United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, The IBN Sina, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Emerald Oil Industries Ltd., and LankaBangla Finance Ltd.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, acquired over 198.01 points to stand at 7992.95 points.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 193 gained, 32 declined and 15 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 231.94 million on the day.
