DHAKA: Amid rise and fall, the two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- ended the week on a positive note witnessing gain of share prices indices on Thursday (May 5), the final trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, acquired over 48.59 points or 1.14 percent to stand at 4306.79 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 106,764 with transaction at over Tk 4,781.24 million. Of the issues traded, 166 advanced, 103 declined and 47 remained unchanged.
United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 506.19 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were BSRM Limited, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Linde Bangladesh Limited, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Olympic Industries, Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Keya Cosmetics Ltd. and Unique Hotel & Resorts Limited.
Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 88.35 points to stand at 8057.70.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 127 gained, 79 declined and 34 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 249.66 million on the day.
