DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss of share prices indices on Monday (May 9), the second trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 10.67 points or 0.24 percent to stand at 4329.39 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 110,474 with transaction at over Tk 4,939.64 million. Of the issues traded, 87 advanced, 178 declined and 52 remained unchanged.
BSRM Steels Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 476.51 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., BSRM Limited, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Islami Bank and Linde Bangladesh Limited.
Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 23.89 points to stand at 8089.48 on Monday.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 79 gained, 132 declined and 31 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 299.85 million on the day.
