DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – passed another week witnessing loss of share prices indices on Thursday (May 12), the fifth and final trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 19.79 points or 0.45 percent to stand at 4298.65 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 79,410 with transaction at over Tk 3,112.90 million. Of the issues traded, 106 advanced, 157 declined and 46 remained unchanged.
Linde Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 476.51 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., BSRM Limited, MJL Bangladesh Limited, BSRM Steels Limited, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Far East Knitting & Dyeing Industries Limited, Olympic Industries and Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd.
Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 31.42 points to stand at 8039.85 on Thursday.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 82 gained, 119 declined and 38 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 167.37 million on the day.
