DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessing gain in share prices indices at the opening hours on Tuesday (May 17), the third trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, gained over 18.69 points or 0.43 percent to stand at 4307.34 points at 12:07pm.
Trade deals stood at 31,969 with transaction at over Tk 1,132.76 million. Of the issues traded, 142 advanced, 88 declined and 56 remained unchanged.
Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk94.64 million having changed hands till then.
Other toppers of the market were Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd., Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, Linde Bangladesh Limited, United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., IT Consultants Limited, The Ibn Sina, Premier Cement Mills Limited and Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd.
Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, acquired over 33.07 points to stand at 8069.08 at 12:04pm.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market till then, 79 advanced, 59 declined while 30 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk62.21 million so far.
