DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss of share prices indices on Wednesday (May 25), the fourth trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 28.03 points or 0.63 percent to stand at 4366.03 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 98,719 with transaction at over Tk 3,768.23 million. Of the issues traded, 72 advanced, 197 declined while 44 remained unchanged.
Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 239.42 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were MJL Bangladesh Limited, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries Limited, Familytex (BD) Limited, Orion Infusion Ltd., Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd. and Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited.
The CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 59.68 points to stand at 8175.80 on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 63 advanced, 148 declined while 27 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk209.89 million.
