DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain of share prices indices on Thursday (May 26), the last trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of DSE, gained over 21.97 points or 0.50 percent to stand at 4388.00 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 88,382 with transaction at over Tk 3499.58 million. Of the issues traded, 151 advanced, 99 declined while 64 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 237.35 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were UPGDCL, HEIDELBCEM, SPCL, FEKDIL, DOREENPWR, TOSRIFA, KBPPWBIL, TITASGAS and ORIONINFU.

The CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 55.91 points to stand at 8231.72 on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 127 advanced, 69 declined while 36 remained unchanged.

The total value of exchange was over Tk 246.75 million.
