DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has warned traders of stern action if prices of essential commodities hiked during Ramadan.
He issued the warning during a meeting with traders over current market situation and price of commodities at secretariat office on Thursday (June 9).
The minister said that some fraud traders create artificial crisis in the market by not selling products, though they already have purchased those products from the manufacturers. We will take stern action against those traders, he added.
The product supply is normal against the demand in the market and even the price of the product is still normal and will be as usual. However it was normal in last two years, the minister added.
The minister also urged traders to be sober in the month of restraint.
