DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain in share prices indices on Thursday (May 29), the last trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, gained over 37.31 points or 0.83 percent to stand at 4507.58 points at the end of days trading.
Trade deals stood at 81,038 with transaction at over Tk 3772.87 million. Of the issues traded, 186 advanced, 75 declined while 59 remained unchanged.
Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 289.99 million having changed hands till then.
The other toppers are Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd, The ACME Laboratories Limited, Islami Bank, City Bank, Beximco Pharma, Aman Feed Limited, Keya Cosmetics, Olympic Industries and Far Chemical Industries Limited.
The CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 75.43 points to stand at 8406.95.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 141 advanced, 67 declined while 38 remained unchanged.
The total value of exchange was over Tk 413.18 million.
