DHAKA: The benchmark indices of the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain on Monday (July 11), the second trading day after nine-day vacation of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, gained over 9.98 points and 0.22 percent to stand at 4505.17 at the end of trading.
Trade deals stood at 68,124 with transaction at Tk 2727.57 million.
Of the issues traded, 187 advanced, 89 declined and 47 remained unchanged.
Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 135.61 million having changed hands on the day.
The other toppers are National Feed Mill Limited, Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd, Linde Bangladesh Limited, City Bank, ACME Laboratories Limited, The Islami Bank, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd, Orion Infusion Ltd and Premier Cement Mills Limited.
Chittagong stocks also followed the trend, as CSCX, the prime index, gained 27.08 points to stand at 8414.74.
Out of the issues traded, 154 gained, 62 declined and 28 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 148.80 million.
