DHAKA: Unity among the political parties is very much needed to revive the export-oriented readymade garments (RMG) sector after the café attack in city’s Gulshan area.
The speakers made the assertion at a press conference of Bangladesh Garments Buyinghouse Association (BGBA) at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) auditorium in city on Saturday (July 16).
After forming the political unity, realistic plans can be taken to overcome the cloudy situation of the RMG sector.
BGBA president Kazi Iftekhar Hussain Babul presented a written speech in the conference.
He said the nine Italian citizens, killed at Holey Artisan Bakery in city’s Gulshan area, were involved in RMG sector. The incident creates negative impact on the sector.
They hoped that the government will take necessary steps considering the overall situation of the sector.
BGBA general secretary M Aminul Islam, among others, was present at the conference.
