DHAKA: Country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group (BG) is expected to get pre-qualification licenses for two special economic zones in the country.
Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) will provide the licenses for ‘Bashundhara Special Economic Zone Limited’ and ‘East-West Special Economic Zone Limited’ to create job opportunities through industrialization.
The licenses will be handed over officially on Thursday (July 28) at BEZA conference room at Karwan Bazar in city, a source told banglanews.
The economic zones will be established in South Keraniganj thana in Dhaka.
However, businesspeople will get opportunity to invest in petrochemical industries, LPG cylinder manufacturing, food and beverage, ship building, steel and steel products industries, specialized hospitals, educational institutions, international standard hotels and restaurants, ICT and other sectors.
