DHAKA: The investors incurred loss as country’s two share markets -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Sunday (July 31), the first trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 12.91 points or 0.28 percent to stand at 4525.34 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 104,486 with transaction at over Tk 5029.52 million. Of the issues traded, 101 advanced, 176 declined and 48 remained unchanged.
Islami Bank topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 224.49 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were MJL Bangladesh Limited, BRAC Bank Ltd., Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, ACME Laboratories Limited, National Tubes Limited, Industrial Prom. & Dev. Co. of BD Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Delta Brac Housing Finance Corp. Ltd. and Heidelberg Cement Bd.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the tradition as CSCX, the prime index of the port city share market saw loss over 27.62 points to stand at 8471.63 points.
Of the issues traded in CSE, 68 gained, 157 declined and 27 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 243.59 million on Sunday.
