DHAKA: After experiencing deflation on Sunday, country’s two share markets -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed slight gain in share price indices on Monday (August 1), the second trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 8.36 points or 0.18 percent to stand at 4533.71 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 97,326 with transaction at over Tk 3777.27 million. Of the issues traded, 139 advanced, 134 declined and 53 remained unchanged.
MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 217.95 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were CVO Petrochemical Refinery Limited, Islami Bank, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, ACME Laboratories Limited, National Tubes Limited, Industrial Prom. & Dev. Co. of BD Ltd., Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd. and Olympic Accessories Limited.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit as CSCX, the prime index of the port city share market acquired over 20.37 points to stand at 8492.00 points.
Of the issues traded in CSE, 126 gained, 95 declined and 31 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 224.96 million on Monday.
