DHAKA: Country’s two share markets -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices for the second day on the trot on Tuesday (August 2), the third trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 18.61 points or 0.41 percent to stand at 4552.36 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 102,035 with transaction at over Tk 4408.38 million. Of the issues traded, 185 advanced, 94 declined and 45 remained unchanged.
MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 245.83 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd., Olympic Accessories Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Jamuna Oil Company Limited, BRAC Bank, Industrial Prom. & Dev. Co. of BD Ltd., Islami Bank, ACME Laboratories Limited and Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit as CSCX, the prime index of the port city share market gained over 27.13 points to stand at 8519.14 points.
Of the issues traded in CSE, 128 gained, 74 declined and 40 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 209.99 million on Tuesday.
