DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain in share prices indices on Thursday (August 4), the last trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, gained over 1.59 points or 0.03 percent to stand at 4577.57 points at the end of days trading.
Trade deals stood at 112,230 with transaction at over Tk 4428.62 million. Of the issues traded, 109 advanced, 168 declined while 48 remained unchanged.
Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 298.13 million having changed hands till then.
The other toppers are Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited, Singer Bangladesh, Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., Premier Cement Mills Limited, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, The ACME Laboratories Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and BRAC Bank Ltd.
The CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 6.63 points to stand at 8565.26.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 102 advanced, 114 declined while 33 remained unchanged.
The total value of exchange was over Tk 269.03 million.
