DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Sunday (August 7), the first trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 9.14 points or 0.19 percent to stand at 4568.42 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 114,335 with transaction at over Tk 4182.74 million. Of the issues traded, 105 advanced, 163 declined and 57 remained unchanged.
Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 200.65 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., MJL Bangladesh Limited, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited, The ACME Laboratories Limited, Beximco Pharma, National Tubes Limited, Grameenphone Ltd. and Uttara Bank Limited.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 12.99 points to stand at 8552.27 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 84 gained, 119 declined and 39 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 273.48 million.
