DSE up, CSE down on Wednesday

DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed gain in share price indices while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced loss on Wednesday (August 10), the fourth trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), acquired over 1.59 points or 0.03 percent to stand at 4569.28 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 111,765 with transaction at over Tk 4818.57 million. Of the issues traded, 138 advanced, 131 declined and 56 remained unchanged.

MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 158.14 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., The Ibn Sina, BSRM Steels Limited, Delta Brac Housing Finance Corp. Ltd., Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., National Polymer and Beximco Pharma.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed loss as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 2.89 points to stand at 8558.64 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 100 gained, 113 declined and 41 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 228.22 million.
