DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Thursday (August 11), the last trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 5.07points or 0.11 percent to stand at 4574.36 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 124,951 with transaction over Tk 5009.49 million. Of the issues traded, 170 advanced, 114 declined and 42 remained unchanged.
The Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 216.53 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were Singer Bangladesh, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Beximco Pharma, BSRM Steels Limited, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., IFAD Autos Limited, Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., Bangladesh Shipping Corporation and The ACME Laboratories Limited.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 3.44 points to stand at 8562.09 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 141 gained, 92 declined and 29 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 269.40 million.
