DHAKA: Finance minister AMA Muhith on Tuesday (August 16) said the report on Bangladesh Bank (BB) reserve heist will be published on any day of August or September this year.
The minister disclosed the matter to journalists while visiting the construction work of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) building in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area in the afternoon.
He further said: “The report is ready. I do not want to specify the date now but it will be published on any day of this month or in September”.
Muhith also said the government is monitoring some actions and this is the reason of delaying the publishing of the report.
In early February, hackers sent several orders through SWIFT to transfer $101 million from Bangladesh Bank’s account in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
A transfer of $20 million to Sri Lanka was halted but $81 million was transferred in and beyond the Philippines.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported the theft at the end of February.
