DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Wednesday (August 17).
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 8.98 points or 0.19 percent to stand at 4595.23 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 126,789 with transaction over Tk 5039.40 million. Of the issues traded, 139 advanced, 141 declined and 43 remained unchanged.
The National Tubes Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 177.84 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Apex Tannery, Aman Feed Limited, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, The Ibn Sina, ACI Formulations Limited, Beximco Pharma, Singer Bangladesh Limited and Industrial Prom. & Dev. Co. of BD Ltd.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 8.63 points to stand at 8597.57 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 108 gained, 112 declined and 33 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 254.78 million.
