DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Thursday (August 18), the final session of the trading week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 10.15 points or 0.22 percent to stand at 4585.08 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 130,849 with transaction over Tk 5119.04 million. Of the issues traded, 118 advanced, 159 declined and 49 remained unchanged.
The National Tubes Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 196.12 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were Aman Feed Limited, Quasem Drycells, MJL Bangladesh Limited, IFAD Autos Limited, The ACME Laboratories Limited, Al-Haj Textile, SAIF Powertec Limited, The Ibn Sina and Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 13.84 points to stand at 8583.73 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 104 gained, 108 declined and 41 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 279.72 million.
