DHAKA: Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) issued a license for Meghna Economic Zone, which is first of its kind.
BEZA chairman Paban Ahmed handed over the license to Meghna Economic Zone managing director Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday (August 23).
Paban Ahmed said that 100 economic zones will be set up by 15 years to create job opportunity for one crore people.
Moreover, a special law will be enacted soon to solve problems regarding investment through ‘One Stop’ service, he added.
Meghna Economic Zone managing director Mustafa Kamal said they already have invested Tk 1,700-crore in the zone consisting of 127 plots.
BEZA executive member Dr M Emadadul Haque and Meghna Group director Tanvir Ahmed Mustafa, among others were present during the license handover ceremony.
