DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss for the third consecutive days in share price indices on Tuesday (August 23).
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 14.16 points or 0.30 percent to stand at 4563.68 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 128,639 with transaction at over Tk 5894.03 million. Of the issues traded, 113 advanced, 148 declined and 58 remained unchanged.
MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 280.97 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were BRAC Bank Ltd., Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., Mithun Knitting, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, National Tubes Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Olympic Industries Ltd., Dhaka Electric Supply Company Ltd. and The ACME Laboratories Limited.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 32.88 points to stand at 8520.61 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 90 gained, 124 declined and 38 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 241.38 million.
