DHAKA: Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed loss in share price indices on Wednesday (August 23), the fourth trading session of the week while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced a slight gain.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 9.41 points or 0.20 percent to stand at 4554.27 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 125,482 with transaction at over Tk 4961.21 million. Of the issues traded, 117 advanced, 136 declined and 69 remained unchanged.
MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 228.22 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were National Tubes Limited, Olympic Industries Ltd., Delta Life Insurance, Apex Tannery, Atlas Bangladesh, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., The ACME Laboratories Limited, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited and Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however, saw a slight rise in share price indices as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 0.65 points to stand at 8521.27 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 101 gained, 105 declined and 46 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 243.08 million.
