DHAKA: The country’s two share markets -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Sunday (August 28), the first trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 19.71 points or 0.43 percent to stand at 4534.55 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 118,440 with transaction at over Tk 4655.15 million. Of the issues traded, 102 advanced, 164 declined and 55 remained unchanged.
MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 253.54 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were National Tubes Limited, Trust Bank Limited, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., The ACME Laboratories Limited, Apex Tannery, Mithun Knitting, Al-Haj Textile, Keya Cosmetics and Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the tradition as CSCX, the prime index of the port city share market saw loss over 47.94 points to stand at 8473.33 points.
Of the issues traded in CSE, 71 gained, 140 declined and 33 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 236.58 million on Sunday.
