DSE up, CSE down on Wednesday

DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed gain in share price indices while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw loss on Wednesday (August 31), the fourth trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), acquired over 2.91 points or 0.06 percent to stand at 4526.56 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 96, 000 with transaction at over Tk 4093.93 million. Of the issues traded, 133 advanced, 113 declined and 63 remained unchanged.

Olympic Industries Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 239.57 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., National Tubes Limited, Delta Brac Housing Finance Corp. Ltd., Industrial Promotion & Development com. Of Bd. Ltd., BDCOM Online Ltd., Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd., MJL Bangladesh Limited and Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however, witnessed deflation, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, shed over 1.41 points to stand at 8462.15 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 94 gained, 99 declined and 51 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 220.72 Tk.
