Bourses see rise at opening hours

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed gain in share price indices in the early hours on Thursday (September 1), the fifth and final trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), acquired over 22.16 points or 0.48 percent to stand at 4548.73 points at 1:04pm.

Trade deals stood at 52,948 with transaction at over Tk 2111.82 million. Of the issues traded, 172 advanced, 87 declined and 50 remained unchanged.

Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 142.31 million having changed hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also foloowed the suit as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 43.20 points to stand at 8505.35 points at 12:58pm.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 126 gained, 46 declined and 41 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 100.95 Tk.
