DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Thursday (September 1), the last trading day.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gain over 22.46 points or 0.49 percent to stand at 4549.04 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 99,415 with transaction at over Tk 4072.23 million. Of the issues traded, 159 advanced, 95 declined and 64 remained unchanged.
The Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 282.32 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were MJL Bangladesh Limited, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Trust Bank Limited, National Tubes Limited, BDCOM Online Ltd., Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, Industrial Promotion & Development com. Of Bd. Ltd., Bangladesh Shipping Corporation and Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 40.34 points to stand at 8502.49 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 135 gained, 64 declined and 48 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 209.41 million.
