DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday (September 8), the last trading day of the week.
DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose at 6.41 points or 0.13 percent to stand at 4601.08 at the close on the last trading day of the week.
Trade deals stood at 100,795 with transaction at Tk 4807.49 million. Of the issues traded, 121advanced, 143 declined and 58 remained unchanged.
The Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 327.07 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., Trust Bank Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Olympic Industries Ltd., Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, GPH Ispat Ltd. and National Tubes Limited.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8617.19 by gaining over 16.54 points.
Out of the issues traded, 94 gained, 116 declined and 30 remained unchanged.
