Bourses see loss at opening

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed loss in share price indices at the opening hours on Sunday (September 25), the first trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 13.30 points or 0.28 percent to stand at 4667.00 points at 11:30am.

Trade deals stood at 35,912 with transaction at over Tk 1466.68 million. Of the issues traded, 111 advanced, 120 declined and 60 remained unchanged.

Yeakin Polymer Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 127.15 million having changed hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse lost over 5.51 points to stand at 8738.33 points at 11:29am.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 66 gained, 76 declined and 26 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 81.51 million.
